In this Masterclass Series, students will be shown how to plan and adapt decoration for their particular bisque fired piece while learning how to apply coloured underglaze or oxides.
Gabby will provide tips on the best way to manage bumps, spots, or smears and everyone will end up having a beautiful piece ready for firing!
There will be an emphasis will be on finishing a small piece, ready for showing.

This class is recommended for those who are already have some ceramic experience, and are keen to learn more. In this 3 hour class, Gabby will focus on all aspects involved in underglaze illustration, including:
How many layers of underglaze are needed?
what colours are best for which type of clay?
Surface treatment – is it rough or smooth?
Is there texture or colour to the piece?
How will colours impact the shape or markings/texture?
And many more of your questions will be answered!

a few of your own bisqued pieces, ready for underglazing! (please bring two or three, no larger than 20cm)
