Glaze of Our Lives is a comprehensive beginner study of ceramic glazes that helps people with little or no experience, learn about what glazes are and how they work.
+ Structure
In this 5 day in person workshop we will answer all of the questions you have and smash a lot of the ceramic myths you may have been told. We will take the mystery of materials, formulas and firings and translate them to change your studio forever!
The workshop will be led by Matt Katz, who has worked as an Artist and Ceramic Engineer for 25 years. Matt is a co-founder of Ceramic Materials Workshop, an online teaching platform that teaches the ceramics community about glazes and clay. He uses his knowledge of art and engineering to make ceramic science understandable and accessible for people of all experience levels.
+ Experience required
This class is ideal for folks with little to some experience, who are looking for a more detailed course to help to improve their glazing technique and knowledge base.
Most glaze courses we've come across can be very overwhelming! The scientific and mathematic elements are always a lot to get the hang of... NOT with this course!! Matt Katz breaks down the class elements in such an easy to understand, accessible way that ALL students will leave with a strong understanding of glazing no matter what your experience level is.

This course will run June 26-30th, Monday-Friday, 10-5pm. You must attend ALL course dates.
Please note: only the FIRST date of the session is listed on our booking calendar below. You only need to book in for the first date of the session and you will be automatically signed up for all 5 consecutive days.
Class sessions run for five consecutive days. Same day, same time. Sorry, if you can’t make it to a session, we’re not able to offer make-up classes, or switcheroos.
