Paolo Vases in Moss by Nil Studio: Clay for Tonga
These vases are hand coiled with recycled stoneware clay. Paolo Vases are designed for multiple uses- as both a vase and a water jug. They were designed in loving memory of a dear friend, who had commissioned a water jug in this shape a fortnight before we lost him in 2020. Paolo was a fierce activist and supporter for many humanitarian causes, a faithful lover of human kind. It is only fitting that these special items be donated to Clay for Tonga, as an extension of Paolo himself, to carry on his work helping support people.
Nil is a zero-waste studio project by artist Sian Kelly, based on Gadigal Land of the Eora Nation. It aims to repurpose and recycle all material waste from the artist’s studio by using it to create unique, hand made home wares.
Handmade at Clay Sydney, each object is unique and slightly different. Due to its ceramic nature each piece may have small inconsistencies.
Please note the colour may slightly vary due to photographic lighting sources.
All proceeds of the sale of these items are apart of the Clay for Tonga online fundraising project donated through the Tonga Tsunami relief by Pita Taufatofua. Pita is a UNICEF Pacific Island ambassador and is working to provide on the ground relief items to those most in need after the devastation of the volcanic eruption.
