Masterclass: Raku firing with Blake Clay
Our exciting new masterclass is here! It's time to raku!
Masterclass | Hands-on Experience
+ Lesson length
Join us for an exciting and informative day of raku with Rhianna Blake from Blake Clay!
On the day of the workshop you will learn to glaze your own ceramic pieces, which will then be rapidly fired to approximately 1000 degrees. They are then removed from the kiln, glowing hot and placed into sawdust filled bins to create a reduction atmosphere promoting stunning colours, crackle and metallic lustre effects.
This dynamic technique will see you taking home your completed works on the day! A really exciting and unique experience.
The class will run from 9am - approx. 3pm
+ What you will make
- New raku fired ceramics, made by you!
- instant gratification and understanding of a new ceramic technique
+ What to bring
- up to 8 pots or reasonable size (approx 20cm x 15 cm), made from raku clay and bisque fired
- we'll provide some more information about what to bring, closer to the day
+ Can I reschedule
Our masterclass cancellation/rescheduling policy varies from our other in studio classes. As we are incurring higher costs to run this masterclass, we need to know exact numbers beforehand. If for whatever reason you can no longer attend, we need to know, via EMAIL, 90 days in advance of the workshop start date. We will then place your ticket up for sale again on the Clay Sydney website. Should your ticket sell, we will refund your place, however, tickets with the 90 window are otherwise non-refundable.
