Kirinuki
Kirinuki classes are coming!
This traditional Japanese technique roughly translates to "carve out". Unlike most other techniques in clay, Kirinuki starts with a solid block of clay, which is then hollowed out, and carved. The idea is to work with an organic spontaneity that makes the form entirely unique. You’re left with vessels that have a very strong connection to the earth that they originate from, and a tactile quality that just begs to be touched.
