6 Week Step Two Handbuilding Course
Take it to the next level
So, you’re not totally new to ceramics, but you’re looking to learn more techniques so your budding style isn’t limited in size or complexity. This is the course for you.
Learn From A Professional Ceramicist | Build On Existing Experience
+ Structure
In this six week course we’ll build your confidence in ceramics, pushing you to create work that is more complex, be it at a larger scale or with finessed techniques.
We'll take you through three new techniques, not covered in our Introduction course - Kirinuki, Nerikomi and Slip Transfers.
You'll then come with an idea of where you want to take your work, and our professional potters show you how to get there. We’ll talk about inspiration, where to find it and how to let it lead you, techniques and nudging their limits, and the wide WIDE world of decoration.
+ Experience required
We do require you to have some experience in ceramics - it doesn’t have to be one of our classes, but you can’t just be an optimistic newbie.
+ How do I book
Please note: only the FIRST date of the session is listed on our booking calendar below. You only need to book in for the first date of the session and you will be automatically signed up for all 6 consecutive weeks.
Does one of your course dates fall over the week when there's a public holiday? No worries, that class date will just be pushed back a week :)
*If one of your course dates falls on a public holiday, your course will resume the following week, and pick up where you left off. For example, if the third week of a course falls on Australia Day (Monday, January 27th), that third week will actually take place the following week, skipping the public holiday.
You must be 16 years or older to attend, and class sizes are strictly limited
+ Can I reschedule
Class sessions run for six consecutive weeks. Same day, same time. Sorry, if you can’t make it to a session, we’re not able to offer make-up classes, or switcheroos.
*please note, the Australia Day public holiday is on January 27th, 2025. January 26th is NOT considered a public holiday, so classes will run as scheduled on the Sunday.
